Hunan Star is consistently clean and fresh—our top choice for Chinese food in Southern Maryland. Every visit delivers hot, delicious meals and fresh sushi. We’ve never had a bad experience, whether dining in or ordering takeout, and we’ve done both many times. As someone who really values cleanliness, I appreciate the extra effort they put into maintaining a spotless, showroom-like environment for their customers.
Most of the time the food here is phenomenal! Of course there will be some off days because of how busy it gets. But none the less, 9/10 times the food is on point. The combo fried rice is always a good choice, beef with broccoli is my favorite, Singapore noodles never disappoint, I just tried egg foo young and man was it delicious. The older ladies there are always nice when you walk in and very helpful. The whole staff there so far has been very nice every time I come in. The outside may look slightly sketchy, but some of the best foods come out of places like that, think about it. And when they say 15-20 minutes, trust it will be no more than 20 minutes, even for an order of about 90.

Human Star is a family favorite for us! They are a staple in the community and have been in business since my youth, that was ....let's say the last several decades!!! They also recently added an excellent sushi bar where the food is top notch! It's been family owned all these years as well. Not the typical fast food services that many Chinese restaurants are. They have made a good name for their family atmosphere and the food tastes excellent!
I visit weekly on Sunday for their buffet bar that has a large variety of Chinese dishes to choose from. I eat with two children that are able to find plenty of vegetable selections to enjoy, at a reduced child's plate price. The employees are very quick to seat you and take your drink order. Overall good food and good atmosphere. Always clean restrooms.
Great food fast and fresh. Big menu lots of options. I got the Zombie, sesame beef and fried rice. Se got shrimp in lobster sauce both were great. I gave never had a bad meal here. Family owed and operated for a long time.
This is the only Chinese restaurant worth patronizing in La Plata. Sushi from here ALWAYS delicious. I’ve been coming here my entire life, and I have always had a great experience. Staff is excellent, from dining in, to carry out, to delivery everything is great.
We had the best Chinese food that I have eaten in ages! The shrimp fried rice actually had a lot of shrimp in it. The Happy Family dish was so delicious and flavorful. The egg rolls were just average. Overall, I was deeply satisfied.
